Ok so I fed my fish and than I noticed this "thing" coming out of my guppy... But it wasent poop.... It looked like a fry but it was dead and not formed.... Why would this happen? -_- It was clear with brown in the middle. I scopped it up in the net but let it go when it wasent moving... And it was only one that came out, I didnt even think this guppy was preggers. Like she does have a dark spot in the middle (is that whats called a gravid spot?) but shes not big.
Any help would be great -_-

How old is the guppy, have you used any strong meds in the tank to cause the fry to be deformed, it does happen now and then that you get fry that are deformed.

Just one of those things i'm afriad, has she had anymore since.

hey Maria she will probably hav another lot of fry in about 4-7 weeks did u know that :pepsi:

This has happened to me too... I'm not sure why. But I'm sure you will have some healthy, happy fry too!

Depending on the age of the guppy it may have been to immature to carry fry to term. Therefore it had still born fry, you may have missed the rest of the deliveries if you were not watching.

She has not had any more fry since. It was only the one that I saw and I was watching for a while after that but she could of had more after I went to bed.... I have no idea how old she is.
But im happy to hear that she will probably have more! :)

She had another deformed/dead fry..... Is this normal for her to be having these deforemed/dead fry over a peroid of days?
Thanks

Never heard of it before, is it her first batch.

Im not sure if its her first batch or not.... Shes a pretty little thing. Is there any way to tell her age? I would post a pic but the boyfriend has the camera so I cant at the moment. Any other suggestions?

I don't like the sound of her carrying dead fry around in her for days, once she has finnished i think I would issolate her and medicate her with an internal bacteria med, just to be on the safe side that they haven't caused an internal infection.

Ok, but where do I put her? The only other tank is the 50 gal downstairs and theres other fish in there.... How can I be sure that it is indeed deformed/dead fry? I mean thats what it looks like cause "poo" is a long thin brown thing right? What Ive seen coming out of her is a brown piece followed by a white piece. Im assuming the brown would of been the eyes and the white being the body? And it was coming out for a long time. I didnt see the second one come out fully but the first one I did and to me thats what it looked like.... Am I crazy?

Any kind of CLEAN glass container will do in an emergency. Isolate her ASAP. As the stress of all these "births" may kill her.
