Hi

Can you tell me if putting in too much Declorinator will harm the fish?

Thanks

I use Seachem Prime (it's the specific product). It's a little more expensive, but it's concentration is about five times as much, so drop for drop, it's much more cost effective. You really shouldn't be able to overdose on products that remove chlorine and chloramines, unless you're really just pouring it in like crazy. If you remove 50% of the water in a partial water change, you're supposed to dose for the full volume of the tank according to the instructions. I generally dose for 80% of the tank if I am removing 50% of the water. You can add the product straight to the tank if adding it to the water before adding it is not possible.

I forgot to note that a lot of water systems use chloramines as well. Most products will get rid of both, but they should say on the bottle. They will also mention removing metals and helping to deal with ammonia too, but that is minimal.

Prime: 500 mL treats 5000 gallons OR 1 mL treats 10 gallons
British King: 1ml treats 9 litres OR 1 mL treats 2.37754846 gallons

Prime is still more effective per drop. I'm not sure how price differences work in the UK though or if Prime is available, but it's the best bang for the buck here in the states.
