Hellllp! I just picked up yet another tank today. A 29usg for $50 and the stand for it tomorrow for another $20 :hyper: So yes mts is still running through my house and I'm running out of room, but that is beside the point. I need opinions on possible setups. On one hand, the new tank used to be set up for saltwater, but has been diassembled for some time, so the live rock is not so live anymore. it has been rinsed thoroughly to remove salt. I'm thinking of either using this tank and substrate for a cichlid tank and keeping my 55usg as it is, or transferring most of the smaller fish from the 55 to the 29 and using the 55 as a medium size (6inch fish) cichlid tank. What would anyone else do? Royce

i don't think you're supposed to use less than a 55 for a cichlid setup unless you're keeping shellies...aren't most of them too big or too aggressive for a 29g?

If I go with the 29 as a cichlid setup, I'm looking at rams which usually only get to be around 2-3 inches , if I'm not mistaken.

ah, rams. i have no experience witht them but i've heard of them in communities, so yeah, i'm sure they're fine. ignore me ;)

As always, I must reccomend getting a giant shoal of danios (zebra, pearl, leopard, all the little ones) and nothing else. ;) (Someday someone will take me up on that- you just watch! )

I think you could also do a pair of angels if the tank was tall enough.

Best of luck! :good: (and be sure to share pictures once you get things set up ;) )

ETA: You also may want to put one of the sharks in the 29 gallon to split them up, as I think those are the same thing as RTBS, in which case if they are in the same tank, they usually end up killing each other eventually.
