Dechlorinatig Water

How do i go about this iv so far just added tap water and let it get upto temprature do i use some think like stress coat to do this HELP lol

No you need to add a decholorinating agent, use one which eliminates chlorine, cloroamine and heavy metals.

Just add your conditioner to the water before adding it to the tank (from now on), temp doesnt matter and it works instantly

Theres only one chemical you need (besides ammonia), thats a water conditioner/dechlorinator, there are loads of brands out there, they all do pritty much the same thing for a reasonable price some brands are prefferd over others for how much you get for your money etc (such as Seachems Prime).

As SJ2K says all dechlorinators are pretty much the same just check it removes chlorine, chloroamine and heavy metals. Add the dechlorinator before the plants.

Probably the 2 most popular dechlors are Prime and Stress Coat (the one I use). Any one that removes chlorine and chloramine will work though. As for the plants, it really doesn't matter. The chlorine won't harm them. It also doesn't matter much whether you add it before or after adding the water to the tank. If you are using buckets, I would suggest adding it to the bucket before adding the water to the tank. If you're like some of us and use a python or hose to add water, just add half before you start adding water and the rest when you're finished.

In my experience when I add live plants right away they don't do so well as there isn't anything in the substrate for them to eat (bacteria) so if you want to you can get root tablets (plant food for the substrate) Just make sure you look at the water conditioner/dechlor as some of them have added ammonia reducer. You don't want that since you need the ammonia to start the cycle!
