Hey, maybe you guys could help me to figure outwhy my platy died. Setup is in my sig (10 gallon one), and the water stats are of a mature tank (0 ammonia and nitrite, and 25 Nitrate). I did botice her poo was white, and somewhat stringy, but that's all. Could that be why she died? Is that a symptom of a sickness?

White poo can mean constipation, bacterial infection, and internal parasites, what do you feed the fish.

Need a more varied diet as to many dried foods can lead to constipation and swim bladder problems, need frozen foods like bloodworms, brimestrimp, daphnia which is good at digesting the fish food, plus veg, like peas, broc, cabbage, cucumba, anything green.

Try some shelled peas good at keeping the fish going to the toilet, just boil for a few minutes, let cool down, pop out of shell, mush between fingers and add to the tank.

Actually I was able to pick up some frozen brine. Hopefully they'll like that. Also, I picked up a new platy today, she's reall pregnant, and probably will have her babies this week.

Congrats, good look.

Oh wait, should I feed them the brine, every other day, or does it have to be everyday?

If you buy some other frozen foods, i give them bloodworms one day, then change it to something different the next day, every other day should be fine while you get some other frozen foods, good luck.

I fed them the brine shrimp. The tetras just loved it, but the platys didn't seem interested, so I put some flakes in there for them to eat. My new preg. platy isn't eating at all, and she's just sitting around the tank away from everyone else. Is she looking for a place to have her babies? I have a pic, maybe you guys can tell me how far along in pregnancy she is, and when she'll have her babies.

Livebearers are abit funny with frozen foods if they have never had them, it will take a few go's before they get used to it, try some shelled peas as livebearers need veg in there diet, if fetches there colours out, yes if she alone and being moody she is getting ready for giving birth, is she chasing other fish away.

No fish is even going near her right now. OK, I'll try some peas sometime this week.

How long so you think it will be before she gives birth?

Don't forget fish need a good diet, especially when pregnant, as livebearers are always pregnant, and pregnancy takes it toll on the body so you need to give them a very good diet, try the peas now it might get things moving in more than one way, lol.
