Dead Platey Fry

Hi, i'm not sure what happend but my platty gave birth to 2 baby fry and they have been fine for the last week and then i added 4 more yesterday night. I went to bed about 2am and woke up at 8am to find out the 4 new fry dead but also the one that was 8 days old. The thing is that i did a water change last night and also left the light on so maybe they over heated in the breading tank or something....Any ideas?

Was the tank the fry were in cycled? What are your water stats we really need those.

Also would be helpful to know the size of the fry tank(for the light idea).

Hi, i've ordered an Api Master Test Kit which hopefully will come on friday but if not monday so i cant post any stats untill then, also my tank size is only a 38 Litre (cycled) using an old light from a 23 Litre (9 Watt)

Hi karen and Xebadir, My filter was abit clogged up so i dont think the water was oxygenated properly so do you think that could be why they died?...just to let you know that i've got one left

Just to let you know that my platties are hanging around the surface and seem to be gasping for air but this could be because i'm currently treating for Ich and i've heard it takes the oxygen out of the water, i'm going to stick in a temp filter and hopefully make them more happy
