Dead Guppie And Clown Loach With Whitespot

I wash the sponges out in the aquarium water that is in the external filter when I open the filter up. I don't intend on buying any more fish for a while now anyway.
Will carry on the meds like you said and clean the gravel more often.

Have just checked nitrites and it's reading 0 so hopefully things are turning around. Cheers for your advice. :good:

Sorry thought you meant 60 litres not gallons.
The tanks fine for now then if its a 60 gallon tank.

No worries Wilder. Just glad of everyones advice. Treated the tank yesterday but no change as yet, all loaches, one black widow and one chocolate mollie still very spotty !!. I cant tell with the other mollies as apart from the two chocolate ones the rest are white and silver. Gouramis look fine as do the cories and 5 remaining guppies. Going to do the water tests again shortly.

Thank you all for your help.

Ok good luck.

Unfortunately, one of the small clown loaches has just died !!. I had moved them to my hospital tank and given them their second dose of whitespot treatment after being worried about the two little ones as one of them was struggling. I wanted to be able to check on them but they were always hidden. So when moving them I noticed that the same small one was still having trouble swimming. Things did not improve once I had moved them and it has been on it's side all morning gasping for air. I can only presume it must have developed a swim bladder problem during the whitespot infection. I have just taken it out and checked it and he is definitely dead.
The two larger clowns and the remaining small one seem to be doing fine though and the whitespot has cleared off their bodies. Incidentally, the one that died still had quite a few spots left on it.

The other small one and one of the large ones have died now !!!.

The small one started about 6.45pm and was dead by 7.45pm (same as the other small one, started swimming on side, then upside down, rapid breathing then dead),the large one started about 7.15pm(same symptoms) , died about 15 mins ago. One large one left, have put it back into main tank as i'm worried that the hospital tank was the cause. Checked temp about 7.45 and it was 32 degrees even though I set the thermometer at 29oC. I just hope the last clown is ok, he seemed fine when I put him back into the main tank.

R.I.P.
Once swim bladder has advanced an antibiotic won't even work.
Can only get antibiotics in the uk from a vet.
