Dead Gourami

[Fish are friends]

I'm still in the process of stocking my community tank and so far I have dwarf Gourami's, platies and danio's. It's a 250l planted tank with 19 fish in it. Water parameters are perfect 0 ammonia, 0 nitrite and 20 nitrate. I bought some new plants yesterday and cleaned them and planted them and woke up this morning to one of my Gourami's floating on the top of the tank. No obvious signs of any diseases and the rest of the fish are fine. Could the stress of me having my arms in the tank have caused it's untimely death?

Dwarf Gourami's aren't genetically the best fish to be keeping. They have been weakened over years of inbreeding, so do tend to just die for no reason.

No I don’t use lotion or sanitiser at home and definitely wouldn’t have had any soap on my arms.. it might have been the stress of a tank move around. All the other fish seem to be ok.
