Calgary Alberta,
today I found one of my mbuna dead. It was stuck too the filter intake of my 403. The stomach and bottom fins seemed to be missing. But it was hard to tell because of the dirt all over him. could jus be an indent in the stomach. Ph was 7.5 to 8, amonia 0, nitrite about 50, nitrate about .25
90gallon
7(six) elongatus
7johanni
3 female lomardoi
1 large male lombardoi 3.5 inches, rest of the fish about two except a few johanni almost at three
newly added 4 inch venustus
Have no Idea how longg the fish was dead

I hope that was a typo..do you mean nitrIte was at .25 and nitrAte was at 50? Because that sounds more normal-like.

i would say that more than likely someone got to it. what species was the dead fish? just from the size and the fact that he is in male coloration, i would guess the kennyi.

It was a p elongatus, the female kenyi are all hideing at the top now he's been in for over a week now and the last two days have been the only days I seen him chase anything but the venustus, so i'll see about moveing him thanks
