I just came home to find my bristlenose dead (and already half eaten) on the bottom of the tank! :-( I have no idea why though. I tested my water yesterday and all levels were fine and I saw him eating last night. I just added some rams, could it have been them? Are dwarfs aggressive like this? I haven't seen anyone picking on him or anything :-( :-( :-(

I'm sorry I don't know anything really as have yet to start my first tank, but that must have been a nasty thing to come home to, commiserations on your loss. :(

It was a bit of a shock. He seemed absolutely fine when swimming etc + looked well fed etc. Perhaps it was an internal thing. We have changed our tank around a bit but we have plenty of hiding places and he always seemed one of the most hardy fish (bossing some of the others out of the way).

Oh my god, I just noticed that one of the corys is also dead, whats going on??? Whish one of my fish could be the killer? This can't just be coincidence!

That's awful, I'm really sorry to hear that. I don't think any of your fish are killers, can't see that any of them would. Anyway, corys and bristles have armour coating, they usually don't get even bullied. My guess is it was something to do with the move around, stress perhaps? :-(

Sounds like the new fish have fetched something into the new tank, any signs of flicking and rubbing, heavy breathing red inflamed gills, look at the fish anus to see if it's red and inflamed, and what does it look likie now when the fish goes to the toilet.
