So, I've had my betta, Erick, for 3 days. Today I come up to feed him his pea to counter the over feeding of the last two days, and find him sound asleep with the pandas. Aww cute cuddles! not.. the black op ninja panda corys (all three) had a bit of his tail in their gobs!! Least to say I removed the little nippers and sent them to happy panda land down stairs, little loves. I've never had pandas (or any cory) do anything like this, so all I can think is his pointy fin bits looked to worm like to leave alone lol
Anyway, brings me to three questions:
1. What else can I put with poor pansy Erick? Obviously, he's not out for fish, fish are out for him, now I see why he was on his own in a small forgotten corner. I have some endlers, would they be ok or would they try to eat him as well?
2. I gave him the pea, shelled and in halfs, one sank, one floated, and he doesn't seem fussed about either but has woken up and is on the hunt, just doesn't seem interested in the pea. I've taken it out, waved it at him, and put it back in, he's following me, but not the pea, so when I drop the pea, he keeps following my hand lol. Not like fins out I'll kill you following, just following. Any ideas how I get him to eat them?
3. He's developed some shiney green around his tail base and down one edge of his fin. The last time I had a betta he was all white and slowly got red and blue shiny tail bits over time, is it normal for them to colour up more the older they get? I have no idea how old he is, so I can't tell you that. Probably older then most bettas sold to fish shops as I think he's been there for a while.
