Last fall i caught several 1 inch long Dase in the river next to my house. Just to see if they would live happily in my tank i put in two. One was eaten within about a week but the other is still going strong and is around 4 inches long.

Can anyone give me any info on Dase or some place i could find out what particular type i have?

By googling I found a few scientific names.

Endemic to Europe - Leuciscuc leuciscuc, Squalius leuciscus, Leuciscuc vulgaris

Endemic to North America - Rhinichthys atronasus, Semotilus corporalis
