Darnit!

I am now on my 4th java fern. I just can't keep these things alive!! I have had them attached to driftwood and to large rocks, never in the substrate. All other plants seem to do just fine. 110wt over a 55gl tank. Flourish once per week added to the tank although, I have tried it as much as twice per week and it still does no good. 0 Ammonia, 0 nitrite, 10 nitrate and Co2 via DIY yeast. Any ideas?

and vallis

just try other hardy plants

where do you get your plants from, maybe try other stores?

i can grow java fern quite happily in a tank with low lighting, no co2, no ferts and big cichlids making a mess and tearing things up all the time!

java ferns like low light, so perhaps you have too much light on the tank for them?
