I've noticed Eddie has really blackened up around the face, is this just a normal thing as they come into adulthood?

His colour has really filled out, so i'm not sure if it's just that, or, something sinister.

i took today.

cant see just how dark his face is getting in the pics, but it gives an idea.

in the earlier ones, he has a lightly patched face, which makes me wonder if it's just that.
I've never raised a betta before, so not sure what to expect!

I'm not an expert, so don't shoot me if I'm wrong, but if he is a marble (which he looks like it to me) then it is completely normal. Marbles coloring can change quite often through out their lives. My boy Nair has the same thing. His body was all light pinky/lavender and now he has black on his face. I asked about it on here, and someone said he must be a marble. :good: Hope that helps.

I'd say it's normal. His brother has a black mask, and Eddie's always had a bit of black on him so I reckon it's just his colour filling out.

And his colours keep getting fantasticer! If that's even a word

he is indeed a marble!
he doesnt seem bothered either, i just wanted to make sure, it's getting quite dark, but i've seen a lot of marbles who kept a pink face.

should be good to watch his changes. :D

haha, fantasticer is a word now! :D

yeah, when he was young he had light patches, i guess they're just darkening.
