Danio Problem

Sorry it looks like dropsy to me, though never had it with my fish, only can go on pics, i will find you one.

ok so- what do i do? like i said before, i added a very small pinch of salt to some water and added that to his little container as well as some stress zyme (he's still in tank water). if you net him and pull him out of the water he literally goes into what seems like a catatonic state for about 20 seconds. i swore he was dead when i moved him into the container... then he began to swim again.

what causes dropsy?

By reading that you might stand a chance, with the fish not being bloated is sounds like the beginning, do you have an antibiotic.

I remember now you used it a few days ago, same procedure, good luck.
Though you can't treat in a cup as you are going to need aeration as meds take 02 out of the water.

i can have my husband clean the one gallon tank tonight. it has a sponge filter w/ a little airation at the top of the filter. will the amox. work?

Yes thats better for him, yes, i will take a look at your others post, just to make sure.

Yes the med is fine just checked.
Yes add salt to the tank, a teaspoon even if is household salt.

thank you again- so much. i would pull my hair out if it wasn't for you the past few days. let's hope this one turns out better than the last, hu?

Good luck kairi.

right now, i wish i knew how to nicely kill a fish. he's not going to make it... he's breathing really stinking fast, he only stays afloat when he's wiggling thru the water- otherwise he just sinks. he's pinkish now too- especially by his tail.

The med is finishing him off, which it can do if the fish is not strong enough, get a jug of cold water, add some ice cubes, and in a container that the fish is in tip the water over the fish, it will kill him fast.
