OMG,

You Know Paul, 1st thing I though of was that they looked like a Danio, I know I had Seen some pix of them somewhere. I Guess you were where I saw them.

Thanks for the ID.

I will let R+S Know what they are as his was puzzled whenI told him they were not what he was sold them as.

Cool Were they a Good Price = 5 for £3.00.

They look awfully pale . . . mine have blue stripes and orange fins . . . perhaps they're just stressed . . . as a note, erythromicrons are bottom to mid-bottom dwellers that like lots of hiding places and feel exposed in the open. They're behavior is completely different from other danios.

wow 5 for £3 what a bargin; go get more!
they were 6 for £12 where I brought mine.

just somethings I've picked up keeping these little guys
1) very sensative to NitrIte.
2) (as mentioned above) act very differently to all other danios, like to hide.
3) males will have a very nice navy blue colour base/females are more brown.
4) will spawn in middle of day when sun is directly on the tank( not normal danio behaviour)
5) during pairing up/spawning will brook no aggression from any other fish, often stand their ground rather than swim away.
6) when pairing up will often appear to "hug" each other. other than that mating dance is much the same as for other danios.

I have spawned them but not sucessfully raised fry yet :/

Thanks for the Info Guys,

No I know why I did not recognise them at first. They are in a Big "Ball" in the LFS, No Hidey Holes.

They are Coloring Up Nicely and Are Top Dwellers so Far.

I got some Neons this afternoon to try and coax them out a little, and it is working so far.

Added Loads of Plants 10 Big Bunches.

4 Bunches Of Java Ferns and 6 Bunches of a Round Leafy Plant, Cant Remember the Name. All the Danios are in that and Dart out Swim with Neons then Dart Back Again.

The 6 Bunches of American Pennyworth

Will Get some More Danio on Monday Lunch Time, He Also has Some Lovely Bengal Danio - Will They get on with the Others.

If you buy bengals, they will eat the erythro':(
bengals will reach 10cm as adults, where as D.erythro's are only 2.5cm
(perfect for bengals mouths)

I have mine with dwarf danios, dadios and gold tetras all get along very well.
