Alrighty... so we have 3 male guppies and one of my female danios in the hospital/quarantine tank.....
I've noticed her watching the guppies playing in the bubbles from the airstone before, but she's always just kinda darting here and there minding her own business and definitely avoiding all of the bubbles as much as possible.
However, tonight (about an hour ago).. what do I see as I bend over to watch them?
My little girly danio is actually playing with the guppies!
She was going into the bubbles, letting them carry her to the top, then swimming against them to get to the bottom like the guppies do. Also would dart in and out of them along with the guppies and was doing this kinda circle "dance" thing with one of them.
It was really cute to watch!
I didn't notice her trying to nip or the guppies trying to nip so I know they were just playing with eachother.
I've also noticed that she's calmed down A LOT! These guppies are very unafraid and when I'm scooping out the water with a cup for the water changes, they'll swim around the cup almost as if they're about to get into it.
Before, my danio would've been FREAKING out at the bottom trying to get away.
But today.. I noticed her right up at the top with them doing exactly as they were.
They also like getting into the flow of the water being poured back into the tank, and there she was, right along side them!
I dunno, this was just really unexpected and just a pleasant surprise! heh
Wish the guppies would affect my other danios this way once they were in the big tank, but I don't think my big Bully danio gal will change her ways
