Got a FEW (literally 4-6 leaves) of duckweed in my tank last week when i added my shrimps from the LFS !! Opened the tank top today for some maintainance and the place was full of the stuff! I have just spent 2 straight hours picking with tweezers each indivdual leaf out of my tank and cleaning the filter free of it!

What a nusance, please tell me people don`t choose to put this in their tank!!!!

Well, Duckweed can have some uses. It's a good shade plant. Ok can't say this with a straight face. Seriously, it does have some uses for fry and bubble nesters and such, but it's a weed! I use a net to scoop out mine. A little quicker than tweezers.

llj :)

Lol i had some hitch a ride with some glosso i bought. Within a week it had covered the whole surface.
I used a small net to get rid of the pesky stuff. Its a pain to get rid off lol, you think you have it all few days later bang its back.

It's taken me ages but I've almost eradicated the stuff. You think it's gone - you blink your eyes - and it's back !

Good luck  :good:
