After 6 months of running DIY CO2 in a 20G planted setup I decided to splash the cash on a pressurised system. I ordered a D&D setup and have got it set up and working with no problems. However, the regulator only comes with a low pressure gauge. I didn't think that this would be a problem as I was planning to keep a spare cylinder handy to swap in when one emptied.
I have read somewhere (not sure where) that regulators are only designed to reduce flow when the cylinder pressure is high and that when the pressure drops (ie cylinder is running out) there can be a 'dump' of CO2 into the tank leading to fish mortality. Has anyone experienced this? If this is an issue does anyone know where I can buy a high pressure gauge for this regulator? There must be one available as the 'saltwater' setup by D&D contains both gauges.
Cheers
