How much ammonia will i need to add to a roughly 29L tank (for the initial cycle)?

cant you just take some media from your other tank hun and seed the new filter ?
if not the calculator says 1.53 ml ammonia to add - dont forget to try and get 5ppm of ammonia

Ok thanx taking some media would be hard cos id have to cut the foam in half, i only ask cos we have a bottle of ammonia laying around and i read that you can use that to help?

Ammonia is essential to cycle otherwise you just have water with no beneficial bacteria allowing chemical levels to become toxic as the fish live in their own filth. Cutting the foam in half will cut down the time from 4-6 weeks to 1-2 weeks to cycle the tank (with adding ammonia otherwise the bacteria has nothing to feed on and die).
