Cycling Without Testing

Can I cycle without testing, or at least start it? My test kit hasn't been dispatched yet and I'm eager to get going now the tank is set up.

Yep just use the calculator to determine how many ml of ammonia to add and go for it. It'll be a week or so before anything starts to happen so you won't miss too much

Sure you can cycle without testing but you won't know just how much ammonia you are adding, or when it is dropping. If you want to get started though you just need to dechlorinate your water and use less ammonia than the calculator shows since you can't confirm the concentration of ammonia. It takes 10-14 days for much of anything to happen anyway and you won't hurt anything by only dosing ammonia to 1ppm or less.
