Hello people,

Currently doing a fishless cycle, added sand, but even though I rinsed it a lot, the water is still very cloudy, and it's not really clearing, is this because my filter, is just sponge? Or will it just clear eventualy?

Thanks

I set up a tank at xmas and it took 3 days to clear-see how you go on......

Hi, what filter do you use and is there space to add cotton wool media?

Thanks for the replys,

I have an Aqua-Flow 100 (it came in a 'Superfish' package deal)

Its just sponge, but in the middle it has these like little pellets.

Thanks

George

try adding some very fine filter media and turning the pressure up a little.

Also, when doing water changes, try putting a bowl (used only for this purpose!) in the sand substrate so when you fill up
with water again, you don't disturb the sand too much.

don't be too disheartened.. it took me almost a month before my tank had clearish water.. and a further month before it was
absolutely crystal clear.

Good luck :)
