Okay, so far the cycle has gone great for about a month now. I JUST now got a nitrAte reading of like 5ppm yesterday. I was wondering... My floss pad for culturing bacteria has had bacteria on it since 5-6 days into the cycle, why has it taken soooo long to cycle now?
And judgung by how long it has taken so far, how long should it take to complete?
Also, when the cycle completes, will i have to continue to monitor ammonia and nitrite? I have maintained ammonia at between .25-.5ppm the whole time by 25%dailies. Would that cause a mini cycle when I stop doing H2O changes?

I had 7 of these 10 in a 10g tank. One got gill flukes----->boiled everything----->lost all bene bacteria----->had a 29 on hand for them----->transfered them so the ammonia/nitrite readings wouldn't spike so high as fast...
