Hi everyone I am fairly new to the hobby of fish keeping and I currently have a large 96ltr eheim aquastar running all freswater tropical and I have bought a 25 ltr clearseal fish tank i was wondering if anyone who has used fish food to cycle tanks before could help me out thanks.

I've cycled with fish food, but it's messy and hard to control.

I would very strongly recommend you get some household ammonia and cycle with that. It's much easier.

i have cycled with amonia before i agree with you 100%
its just i started and realised that i had no amonia left so i tried somthing new but i will definatley purchase amonia soon

Yeah I wouldn't recommend cycling with fish food or anything of that matter such as cocktail shrimp. Ammonia is the way to go bro

If you must cycle with non ammonia via rotting food, fish food is a very poor choice as it is low in matter that produces ammonia. Use a piece of shrimp or cut fish. But using actual ammonia s repeatedly advised above is a much better option.
