Hi All,

I think my cycle has now completed, its taken around 8 weeks, I think its done because when I now add Ammonia, 2 - 3 ppm this will be eaten by the filters in approx 12 hours.

The only Issue I currently have is my Nitrates, my tank is around 700 litres, I have now changed 1650 litres over a 2 week period.

On my Api master test kit its reading around 160ppm, so I decided to get a seperate kit, a king british one, this is reading 25 to 50 mg/l.

Can anyone advise on this, I am woundering if my Api test kit is faulty, mainly the Nitrates section, I currently use Prime as my water treatment.

Any views or help on this would be thanked.

If you're fully cycled and processing the ammonia through to Nitrate then you just need to do a 100% water change, refill with fresh dechlorinated water, and add fish.
