Hi,
Apologies if this has been asked many times before.
I am fishless cycling a potential shrimp tank - can I start growing my moss now - I am dosing up to 4ppm ammonia
Thanks

The plants will take up some of the ammonia. Plants do great during cycles don't worry about it.

just remember to keep the light to an absolute minimum. In fishless cycles we tend to steer clear of planting as plants need light. As we also know, for algae to bloom we need light and ammonia. Which is what your directly putting in the tank. Moss will survive with minimal light. Don't expect the moss to grow a great deal though.

Can you just put a bit of mature media in a new tank and add plants and stock straight away or plants first and stock a day or so later?
