Hi i just got a tank and the current is really strong is this good for the fish?

The current shouldnt be "really strong". there should be a little bit of current, but if the fish hang over the side where the current is least, then i suggest lowering it if you can. But there should always be a little bit of movement in the water. Although some fish do like very calm water, if you happen to get 1 that requires calm water and he doesnt look so hot, lower it more oif you can.

thanks i tried lowering it down but it makes hardly any difference so i might have to get a new filter

Perhaps there's a way to point the filter output at a tank wall. There are quite a number of clever tricks that people use to tailor their circulation and to try and make the tank environment better. Changing a filter can be an expensive proposition, so you might want to take some more time for member discussion.

The more information and data you can supply, the more the members can help you!
tank volume
tank dimensions
filter type
filter make
types of media in filter
how long since water first went in
how long since fish first went in
types and number of fish
liquid-reagent based test kit results
...stuff like that!
