Too many fish for my 55g? Anyone see any problems with the angels being housed together?

The Swallowtail Angel gets too big for that tank @ 7" IMO, it is recommended that they are kept in a minimum of 80g as they require a lot of swimming room like a Tang (I have one and it acts just like my Regal Tang)
I'm pretty sure the Flame Angel would not get on with it anyway as they are quite agressive, especially to larger angels, and you'd find that the two of them in a 55g would be carnage

Flame angels are one of the least aggressive angels. Your tank setup is fine, but it may need to be upgraded in a few years to accomodate the swallowtail.

I would not house the two together. You shuld pick one. Unless you are planning a future upgrade, I' d pick the flame angel.

Really, the only angels that fight with eachother are ones that look very similiar, such as juvinile Pomacanthus. And Im not so sure that even this is true; I know by personal experience.

The two would be fine together in a tank larger than 80g as I know for personal experience to, I had the Swallowtail Angel along with a Coral Beauty, Black Velvet Angel and an Elibi Angel in a 120g. Swallowtails grow fast and are fast swimmers even when small and will soon outgrow a 55g so knowing that why would you put it in a cramped space as a juvenile. If you're planning on upgrading at a later date wait until you have the tank before buying the fish, it's better for the fish.

Really ;)

IME angels will fight with each other, especially in smaller spaces. For a 55g, I really would pick one or the other. JMO
