I have 3 betta, they live in 3 different tank. Recently 2 of them died. Both killed by their curiosity.

The green one live in a heavily planted tank, happy and always chasing other fish, one night i noticed he did not come out at feeding time. I thought he is hiding somewhere, the following day i found his dead body stuck at the small gap between the filter and tank glass.

The blue is similar, he was found behind the CO2 ladder.

The only left one living with my snails, i hope he can not find any narrow place to squeeze himself inside

I've had a few fish killed by their curiosity - all in the same situation, being stuck in the tiniest gap between the filter and the glass. A BGK and a mickey mouse platy. Funnily enough, a cardinal did it as well but that survived
Fish can be pretty silly at times. We've since moved the filter to create a bigger gap.

I think betta is the worst, everytime i try to avoid it, they seems will find new place. You know in a heavliy planted tank, it is quite difficult to find where they might stuck.

I guess they just like explore the tank, the one used to live in the glass jars always survive.
