Man, i dunno about others but im pretty sure boiling it removes SOME (not all) nutrients. :) Ill have a hunt around and see if i cant find anything on it on google!

I can leave a peace of cucummber in the water for a couple of hours after it has been boiled and it does not fall apart, plus the fish eat the entire thing expect the skin so I am just left with a ring to take out.

Just make sure when you boil it you don't over do it. I just toss a big slice into a mug, and poor a little boiling water into it. Leave it for a few minutes and then replace the hot water with cool water, once it has cooled I toss it in the tank, it is soft, but not to the point of falling apart.

boiling any vegetables takes out some of the nutrients. They get in the water. Thats why they want you to use the water in your cooking. so you dont lose the nutrients.

Just tried some cuecumber, and none of them were the slightest bit interested :(

:D ive just come home, after putting my piece of cucumber in about 5 hours later i had a look and my 4 inch pleco is sucking the hell out of it ive neva seen him suck so fast.

i didnt boil it weight it or any of that i just put the end of the cucumber in the gravel.

Give it to them in the morning before they have eaten anything else that day. If they are hungry they will eat.

I added a slice of a carrott tonight and my fish ignored it, maybe it will be gone in the morning???

Maybe they are just fussy eaters??????

I think Cucumber would create much more interest because of its smell underwater, carrot doesnt have this.

Ill try the boiling idea today or tommorrow! See how much difference there is.

I only left the cuecumber in for about 15 minutes, then I took it out..

na, you need to leave it in for a good 4 hours. I left mine overnight the first time and they were completely eaten!

Carrots alot harder than cucumber/zuchini thats probably part of it, carrot has to be well on the way to being cooked before it goes soft

What exactly are you doing with your cucumber to make it sink?
