This is her now

At first, it seemed the red was receding and being replaced with a celophane coloring but then I noticed a real pale pastel type blue coloring.

This would mean she has a marble gene? the blueish coloring is becoming bigger in her fins.

Hmmm not sure, her body is still devoid of all colouring, she does look like a cambo, perhaps she has the red loss gene? and rather than gaining colour she may just loose it all so she becomes completely white/cello, beautiful girl I have one very similar to her that is a cambo but a halfmoon here:

that's what i thought but i am wondering as the blue has only just appeared or is that part of celophane?

I think cellophane should be completely clear if it's a true cellophane but she has mixed genes being half plakat and half crowntail so one parent more then likely the plakat was carrying or had the marble gene which has caused the blue sheen though I think she will more than likely lose all the red which will be replaced by the blue sheen as her final colour, I would be very surprised if she started to get marble patches to her body but then bettas are always suprising me :fun: keep us posted with how she turns out :good:

i will, lots of pics :good: they are interesting, always surprising you lol

the red on her anal fin as totally gone now, with the blueish coloring replacing it, the red on her tail is receding too

yeah, i thought so too x

i have tried taking a newer picture of her but she just doesn't stay still, she seems to have 'new tank' excitement  i'll give it another couple of days before i get a pic.

It now seems that her rays are more of a solid white color today

thats cellophane butterfly coloration in her fins. cellophane can have (and do) have blue iridescence. there is also a "clear" cellophane which is what i think you are referring to (being totally colorless)
marble is body coloration-mixed colors and blotches that expand and change over time.
either way shes pretty.
cheers

she's not staying still enough for a photo but this is the best one so far, with her sister;

the red has totally gone now

still technically not a marble. marble is body coloration and not finnage. fins change over time, especially in fish with variations of color within the fins. she is really pretty nonetheless. nice find.
cheers

very pretty fish. i love cambodians
wish i could have a sorority....one day
