Hi i just bought one of these fish at a LFS sold to me as a "Spotted Leaf Fish" and was planning on putting some brackish fish with it. When i came home i searched on google on info about it to find out its a gourami :-( Im not really sure on how to take care of it either :X I have it in a 10g with blue and black gravel with 3 rocks and a sword plant. I need to know what to feed him(the LFS said frozen bloodworms should be fine???), if i should rearange the tank, what other fish i could put with it (i was originally going to put some brackish water fish with him like a figure 8 puffer, and a freshwater flounder), and if these are freshwater. I'm not sure if i should take him back to the LFS because i was really looking forward to a brackish tank. Im kind of new to these forums so if i did anything wrong sry, and thank you in advance :D

Just find your gourami here and read it and it will be there it will show you what it eats. Its rather flakes or brine shrimp:????:http://www.liveaquaria.com/product/scateg.cfm?pCatId=882

Your tank is too small... you should take it back and go with dwarf puffers maybe.. They stay small and are good for a 10g tank.

That's probably the best thing to do :X

please note, however, that dwarf puffers are not brackish but fully freshwater.

a 10g really limits what sorts of brackish fish you can have. if you're still interested in attempting a brackish 10g, then i suggest that you ask for advice in our Brackish Forum

since you really can't provide for your Ctenopoma, i recommend that you return him to the store ASAP

k thanks for the advice and i'll take him back to the LFS today :D
