How long do their fins get? I have had jack for a couple of months now and his fins seem to be getting longer every week they are now at 3cm possibly a bit more as its hard to measure and object that won't stop moving

Depends on the underlying finnage type... the CT gene only extends the length of the rays (or rather, reduces the webbing), it is not the main gene influencing the fin length. These days the CT has been extensively crossed with the HM, resulting in a fish that has a spread fairly close to 180 degrees most of the time and will have more bulky finnage than, say, a CTPK or the early CT which was based on delta.

Do you know how old he was when you got him? Usually the fins will keep growing until the fish is close to a year old.

I am not sure how old he is but he is a thai import and I am the first owner so guessing he is still young. To me he looks like he has lots of HM blood in him as there is only a small gap between dorsal and tail then goes around. Struggling to get a side on photo of him now as he is not cooperating but here is a photo from when I first got him (click to enlarge):

Whoa... indian tri band on quad ray CT. Interesting. And very beautiful!

From Thai breeders (superior bloodlines) expect his fins to get as big as a HM. The outline of his fins at full flare will be the same size as a HMs, just obviously with the webbing reduction. I'm pretty confident on that because he is a quad ray (the original CT had a single ray split like the VT/traditional plakat), and this level of fin branching is only achieved by crossing with HM or HMPK. If it was HMPK, his fins would be half that size at 3-4 months old (which is the age at which the Thais usually sell them.)

Can you repeat that part in English please. Does indian tri band mean 3 colours? Quadray because of the number of splits?

The idiot managed to hurt himself today but it looks like only a slight scrape so I have added some aquarium tonic as I am all out of melafix.
