I moved one of my two Crypt Balanse about 4 days ago and to my unfortunate surprise it started a crypt melt in my entire tank. The other Balanse is melting now too along with my half dozen Wendtii. I've now trimmed them all down since all of their leaves were turning to mush but I have a few questions.

1) I know that often times when you get crypts initially they melt due to the move, now mine did not, I planted them all and they've been happy for close to a month now. My question is, can one crypt melting cause the others to do the same? My tank would suggest the answer to this is yes but I want to make sure this can happen, because if not I may need to go looking for what else is going on.

2) After a crypt has been basically cut down to the substrate, how long give or tank does it take to recover from the melt and begin sprouting new leaves. I can be patient with them growing back but I do want to kind of know when I may have just outright lost them if that ends up happening.

You can see pictures of my tank pre-crypt melt here in the journal post I made for the tank.
