Is it possible that 2 different species of platy's can mate? I have a mickey mouse platy (i dont know the speices, ill post pics so you guy can identify it) and the store i go to doesn't have any of the same species. So im wondering if i get a new species of platy that they might breed?

Here are the pics. What species is this?

Also im asking is if it will breed with any other Platies not random fish.

All shop platies will breed as their all the same species of fish.

Their are some wild platies that are much more difficualt to keep though so stich to shop fish.

To devlop a new line is diffiualt, and they have to breed true (all the same type of ofspring) for at least 5 generations and have not been seen befor to be able to class as a new line.

i can only tell the micky mouse platy cant see the other good enought, but i dose look like a swords but impossible to tell from that angle.

I jus tasked abotu teh mickey mouse. The other guy is a pineapple swordtail. Do you know what type of mickey mousse platy that is?

Their is only blue and the normal MM as far as i'm awear of and your is the common, keeping the MM marking's is difficualt on other colour forms of this fish.

Ok so now i no that all platy's mate with each other regardless of species. Are Marigolds a type of platy?
