Hi,

I have a female silver angel fish and a male koi angle. They have already spawned in my community tank. What should i do to save the fry? They had already spwaned once before but i lost all.

In the tank there three rainbow fish, four black widow tetras and four siamese algea eaters. The aquarium is planted with amazon swords.

regards,

Gordon

Remove the angels for spawning and move them to a breeding tank, or remove your other fish. Alternatively, you could hand-raise the fry in a growout tank, but this is difficult. If they spawn again, I would suggest removing the eggs and putting them in a seperate tank with good filtration. Put them directly under the filter output so that they get a fresh flow of water going over them, as this will be a substitute for the parents fanning them with their fins. When they hatch they will eat infusoria, and eventually graduate to baby brine shrimp and cyclops. Do daily water changes to keep their water clean. They shoudl grow nicely.

btw, thats not cross breeding. thats between two diffrent species.
