my pregnant guppy died just as it was birthing . it was at nite so i didnt know were it went. the next day there were no baby fry or the pregnant fish. the filter was turned off so it couldnt hav goten sucked in.
wat happened?!!!!!!

how often are you leaving the filter off? if to long i would guess that would be why as its just sitting in its own waste.

Could have been loads of different reasons.

• It could have been because you turned the filter off.
  
• It could have been an illness unrelated to the pregnancy.
  
• The pregnancy could actually have been a tumour or a digestive problem and the fish wasn't pregnant at all.
  
• It could have died whilst giving birth, it happens.

It is impossible to tell, but I agree that you shouldn't turn the filter off.

the filter keeps the tank clean, u should hav left it on!!! it might hav had stress from giving birth, like if u hav more fish in the tank, especially male guppies, the males will bug the females cuz after the female gives birth, the males either wanna eat the fry or get the next mating in so the next fry will be his own batch. if she was alone it might of been stress, like if she was in a breeding net, box, trap, etc. this could hav caused the stress. if she was in a separate, empty tank, i hav no idea wut happened ! hope this helps! good luck with ur next batch of fry! -heart , ally86ozzy

dude i turned the filter off for lik 8 hours from 10 pm to 6 am. there werent males in the tank. was it dezease?

Like they said fella, it could have been anything really. But turning the filter off wasn't a wise move I hate to tell you lol

what they said up there could off been many reasonss.

the female could off giving birth and got too stressed out so she died.
i have read that before.
was she actually giving birth? did you see any fry before she died?
she could of aborted them and then died. noone knows.
but i never turn my filter off. the only time the filter is off is when..
i`m cleaning the tank
or the power went out.
lol.
have you turned the filter off before like you did?
