So I was changing my sand over in my main tank and had my filter and heater in the bucket with my fish. I turned off the heater and filter once I was done to put it back into the tank, The second I slipped the heater into the water it cracked, I pulled it out and yea. Huge cracks up the side of it, It wasn't on when I put it in but I take it the heater built up on it while in the bucket? But that makes no sense since it was under water the entire time?

Unsure what to do now, My fish are heaterless. Pretty sure they'll be fine till 2mro, I'll give my LFS a call to see if they have any decent 300w heaters in, if so I'll go grab one.

the water in the tank must have been alot hotter or colder than the temp of the heater

Must have been pretty major of a change then ;-;

The question is, how warm is the room. A cold room might be an issue, a warm room then things shouldn't go wrong. I'd probably wrap the tank in blankets or similar anyway, just to sleep better.

Cheers rob, I'll see if they have any heaters at my LFS 2mro.
