Coveting Something You Though You'd Never Get...

After seeing a vampire shrimp on the net, I coveted them forever.
Sure, big brown and gruesome, but I wanted on so bad. I looked all over my LFS for a long time, and never found one. After about 2 months, I gave up.

So today I walked into my LFS and look in at what are labled "marble blue shrimp", which supposedly ate fish. So since all my fish are big, I asked to take a look. lo and behold, instead of 1, there were 3!

And what were they? Not brown, but BLUE VAMPIRE SHRIMP! as if vampires aren;t rare enough, now I have a blue one

How about your sucess stories on coveted fish/inverts you thought you'd never find?

I've gotten three species recently I had been wanting for several years. Lamprologus stappersi, Albino Bristlenoses and Corydoras sterbai. None are particularly rare or expensive but my LFS was taking forever to get them so I ended up getting them via the internet.

I was at my LFS when I was in search of a bristlenose Plec to kind of clean up my tank. I was searching and ran across an albino long finned bristlenose pleco. Of course I bought it, unfortunately over the summer time, my lack of time at home (being from work and my motocross schedule) he passed away. It was quite a find though!

Greenspotted pleco, my lfs got a bunch in but the were expensive and never lasted long there sold out quick, but i got mine now

My Pearl catfish. I couldn't find them anywhere and a lot of people didn't know what I was talking about. Finally found some in a little fish shop and brought three!
