So as you may know if you have been following my 5 gallon rescape page,I have pregnant ghost shrimp! So what I am wondering is if quilt batting/filter floss will be ok to cover the input of the filter with.

Haven't tried filter floss personally, I have previously used filter sponge to great effect.

As long as you don't restrict the flow too much and burn out the motor.

Of course! It will probably be very thin just enough to stop shrimp from getting sucked up.I was just wondering to make sure it doesn't get in my filter.

Of course! Just enough to help the shrimp and stuff I just wanted to make sure it wouldn't gwt sucked up.
