hi just wondering when feeding either of the both do you have to do anything special to it or is it a case of buy cut a chunk of stick spoon through it and place in tank?

Basically! Some people remove the skin or blanch them but apparently this removes pretty much any useful nutrients.

There's not that many useful nutrients in cucumber in the first place; it's nearly all water!

Courgette, sweet potato or carrot are better; blanch them in hot water for a couple of minutes, or in the microwave for a minute :good:

oh right thats good to know i will give them a try and see what likes what the most thanks everybody for the help thou

Mine prefer zucchini (courgettes) and sweet potatoes. I would actually recommend putting them in hot water just for a few minutes to soften them, especially the sweet potato as they are very hard. I noticed that my plecs are on them much more when theyre a bit softer.

Yep, you want to just soften it so it's just barely cooked, or it'll disintegrate too quickly. You can try pretty much anything, except normal potato (I assume too much starch comes out).
