I have been using Amquel+ ever since I started fish keeping and it works great and have never had a fish die from it but I absoultly HATE how you have to wait 24 hours after treating the water before you can add it to the tank. So is there a way to change dechlorantors without it killing my fish? If so what would you reccommend?

Hi Durbkat :)

Does it give any reason why you have to wait that long for using it? If you just put an airstone in the water, you could use it after that long a wait, without adding any product.

Does this product do anything else except dechlorinate?

Uh, yeah.... just change dechlors! The fish aren't going to know the difference as long as it gets the job done :p

Yes on the bottle it says "after treating water wait 24 hours before adding to aquarium." So synirr it won't matter if I just stop cold turkey on amquel and start on something else?

What about chloramine and heavy metals inch?

I think the old saying applies here: "If it ain't broke, don't fix it."

He didn't say he has any problem with those things. Naturally, if they are in his water, just removing the chlorine by natural means will not do the trick. :D

Yep. I regularly alternate between Stress Coat and Start Right, mostly because those are the easiest to find in my area.
