Hi

has anyone here has any experiences with these gouramies, I know is a three spot gourami, but I was wondering if it is just as a blue or gold one.
(Just to be sure, the cosby I saw at the LFS is like white with a centered blue spot) I havent seen any pics of them on the web so I want to be sure, I do know for sure the ones I saw are three spot gouramies thoug, but the color morph got me wondering)

The PLAN:
btw, I'm planning to move my Gold Gourami (female) to a new tank that I will get any time now (75Gal), I'm also planning on getting one or 2 Dwarf Gouramies (male) and my 2 Mollyes and 5 Red Eye Tetras will be moved to this tank as well.... and maybe just maybe a Clown Pleco will be added too. I've even thought about exchanging my Red Eye Tetras with Cardinal Tetras instead

So, I wanted to buy at least one of these Cosby Gouramies (female) to put in this new tank. I'm guessing that since there will be 2 females Gouramies (The Gold and the Cosby) there won't be much of a problem with bulling. I've also heard that Dwarfs are peacefull Gouramies.

what do you guys think about all of this??

That should be absolutely fine but watch for any bullying of the dwarfs by the three-spots (probably won't be an issue in that size tank and with the three-spots being female though). And yes, BTW, the cosby color morph is just like any other trichogaster trichopterus. They behave just like goldens. Here's a link I came across a while ago with various trichogaster trichopterus variants and lovely pictures: http://www.aqualandpetsplus.com/Gouramis,%...ichogasters.htm I can't remember whether the 'cosby' is represented but they are still lovely to look at :p

thanks sylvia

I don't get it, the pic of the Cosby Gourami from the link you gave me, shows very similar to the blue Gourami, just with darker blue lines, BUT the ones I saw at the LFS are completely white with a blue stain in the middle part of their body on each side

Does anyone has picss of them just to be sure???

btw, they look almost as this, just with a bigger and more centered stain

As far as I am aware, 'cosby' is just another name for 'opaline'. Opalines vary greatly from one fish to the next. The one in that link I posted (just checked it) is an opaline, but so is the one in your picture. If your 'cosby' has any sort of blue marbled pattern, that's what he is. :) If what you are reffering to is a near-white three-spot with just one black spot in the middle on either side, that's a 'blue' (the wild version of the three-spot).
The names for the various color morphs of gouramies get mixed up anyway. At least you can be certain these are all three-spots (unlike the various colisa species :p).
