Hey guys a while back my peppered corydoras spawned, due to me having to be away from home for a good while i came back to only 2 left out of around 150ish :(

The 2 that are left are around 3-4months old and are around 1/2-3/4 of an inch long, what size should i rear them to before i add them in with my 3 adult peppered corydoras?

Im guessing its just the rule of mouth (if they cant fit in their mouth they wont eat them)

I just wanted to makesure theyd be ok as i like them very much and their my first success with breeding!

Thanks alot

Richie

Hi R1ch13 :)

Congratulations! :shifty:

These little fellows are still small, but will grow now that you are around to feed them more often. They should be safe to go into the adult cory tank by now.

If your corys spawned before, chances are good they will do it again. I'm looking forward to seeing your posts about them when it happens. :D

Yeah they spawned again and again but i wasnt able to retrieve the eggs in time,

Wasnt really expecting it as it was so soon after their first huge spawn, woke up in the late afternoon to find the tank walls a sticky mess :(

I cleared my tank that i used to hold the 3 adults in and i found another 3 babies around 1-2months old i have them in a net along with 3 that hatched today!

Also have another 4 eggs i found in java moss that are ready to hatch tomorrow i think as their dark brown and you can see the fry move inside from time to time!

Also have around 5 eggs that have around 3 more days till hatching time!

I know its not alot, but i found all the eggs by chance yesterday, not to bad i think ;)

P.s

Thanks for the comments :)

And any chance of some pics of your breeding tanks etc ?

Hi R1ch13 :)

I'm glad you found more little corys. C. paleatus (peppered corys) are often frequent spawners, but can be egg eaters too. It can be tricky to get to them just at the right time. You are doing well to have found the ones you did. With a little luck you will get to raise a bigger batch too. I hope you post about these fry as they grow up.

I'm moving tanks around right now and don't have any young ones, but this is a thread that I started that follows the progress of some of my fry from the time they were eggs. I hope you enjoy looking at it.

Inchworm...

I think you are going to see me raise that larger group hahaha!

Im just sitting here now watching my corries spawn again!

Im glad because i just moved them into a new tank and i was a little worried about them as they seemed a bit stressed, now that i see eggs i think their happy ?

Am i right?

Richie
