In my cold water tank I have some peppered cory's who bred like crazy out of the blue and I managed to catch the fry but they eventually died. Since then they have never tried again, I have trouble identifying who is the female as I now have 3 in the tank, they bred in the community tank before..why not again? Water is in the best condition and no new additions to the community. When they bred last time I never monitored the water condition and was changing 1/4 water weekly plus cleaning teh filter weekly under tap water! I don't anymore but now they have stopped. :S

since it was coldwater it might of been the outside temp or something when you did water changes you prolly did it with colder water... some fish breed at months
did they breed in a short period of time? try using colder water when you do water changes like a couple degrees

thats the best advice i can give since ive never bred corys (i want to) but... yeah

Silly me when they began to breed didn't realise what they were doing! I saw these white circles all over the glass and they were hard, I thought the snails had gone crazy and laid eggs so I pushed them all off the glass! I did this about 3 times before I found accidentally a catfish fry...nearly sucked him up the gravel vac! Then I watched the catfish and realised what they were doing! It was very interesting to watch as she popped her eggs out and held them between her fins and then cleaned the glass before placing them on it. I only ever found the babies when I cleaned the gravel, so now I'm super careful and watch everything that goes up that tube!
