Hi there,
I have a 30 gal, stock is in my signature. I haven't updated the picture, my substrate is now white sand..

I know I should have more cory's to keep my other two happy.
I've been told before that I should get more Panda Cory's, do Cory's only school with their own color or something or are the different colors actually different breed's of Cory?
I went to the pet store and they did have Panda's but I also saw Peppered and Albno Cory's. Would mt Panda's get along with Peppered and Albino or should I just get more Panda's? I would love to get some Peppered Cory's...

I've just never understood why people tell me I should only get more Panda's rather than some of a different kind as well and I was hoping to learn why :p

The differently named/coloured cories are all actually different species. There are more than 180 corydoras species in total! Cories do shoal with those from other cory species, but this is out of desperation. They would be much happier kept in a shoal of 4+ Pandas.

I am planning to add more same species cories to my tank, as when I went they only had 2 sterbais (My favourite cory species) so I bought those 2 and another 2 False Julii cories. When I next find some, I will get more of both species- They are a lot less timid in same species groups.

Hope this helps!

Sam

in my small tank i have several different species of cory, they all swim together apart from the albino one. I am assuming this is because of the large difference in colour.

however in may larger 50g i have a large group of sterbi cories and they are far happier than the group of mixed species in my smaller tank
