in my cycled 50g i have a group of 10 sterbi which have been all together for over a week now. they do swim together quite often but rarely all 10 are together. Is this normal as i was expecting to see them in a group all the time like my neons etc

they are all perfectly healthy and tank has loads of hiding spaces etc

It sounds normal to me. None of my cories group very tightly either.

The 4 I have in my tank a very playful, usually 3 out of 4 do their little dance at the front of the tank and some times the 4th one will jump in as well. Today their new group activity is to try and swim through the bubbles, pretty funny to watch. For the most of the time I'm watching them they will be all together either swimming around or just parked in one of the caves.

Hi garry123:)

What is the temperature of the water in your tank?

the current tank temp is 25 degrees celcius

Depending what else you have in your tank, you could actually up the temperature, Sterbais do prefer warmer water, can tolerate up to 29 degrees :good:

My cories are the same, they don't necessarily stay together in their own species, but they have their mad 5 mins together,i wouldn't worry to much about them not staying together. :)

thank you for your help, i was just a little concerned with the happiness of my cories. I wouldnt want to make them uncomfortable or loose any, expecially when they cost £60 for 10 of them
