Just got a new tank setup about 2 weeks ago and got 10 neon tetras and 2 cories. One corrie has died, but the one thats left is going the same way. It doesnt move then all of a sudden it will fly around the tank doing endless spins like a plane, seems to always swim upside down to. No spots or marks on the fish at all, I am prepared to accept it might just be the new tank but ive done water tests and water changes and it all seems fine.

Seems strange how its the 2 corries that are effected and the teras are fine.
Only thing i have changed is to put some plants in that are growing fine

Any one got any ideas, ive put whitespot in and stress coat in(not at the same time).

Though I am a beginner myself, i'll try and help...

I had almost the exact same problem when i got my new tank, about 2 months ago.. my cory still does it now! We thought it might be the water, so we took readings and they were all fine. We thought that maybe it was stress from the moving, but it was still the same after a few weeks. then we went back to the shop and looked at some of the other ones, et voilat. A lot of them were the same.

So, there you go. I don't think there's anything particularly wrong with the fish, just perhaps he has an insane personality. Our cory still does it now, but he shows now signs of illness. :)

Well I pretty sure mine is a gonner. At the moment he is lieing upside down on the bottom of the tank gasping for air

What size tank, is it cycled, & what kind of filter? Water test results would also help. From the little bit you have discribed, the tank may not be fully cycled. Ammo & nitrites inhibit the fishes ability to get O2 out of the water. If you have a hang on back filter try dropping the water level an inch or 2. This will increase oxogynation.

Its a Jewel 180 (180 litres). So I have the inbuilt filter running and also bought an Ehiem 2213, now what ive done (the fish were bad before i done this), is at night switch the internal filter off and divert the inlet of the external filter to draw water through the internal filter sponges, its not effecting the flow of the external filter. The outlet is attached to a sprinkler bar so there are always bubbles.

I done this cause the internal filter is to loud at night.

The water tests I did where for nitrate amonia and a PH test. They showed no signs of nitrate or amonia and the PH was 7.5

I pretty sure it aint fully cycled, just puzzles me why the tetras are so healthy and the corrie is half dead
