Well, right now I can fit.

20W
59cm/24"
(T-eight)
25,5mm/1"

I just need 60 watts atleast. Does not have to be this one.

... then it won't fit. The tube on your link is a T12 which means 1.5" diameter so you won't even get it in your light fitting, never mind the fact that the starter wont be up to it.

Your going to have to get a new multiple tube set up if you need that much light. Here's an example that would give you 72w on a two foot long fitting.

2 foot 72w - T5 triple

Looks like a nice one and would suit a planted tank.

I will look for one at that store. That is from the UK, I'm in Canada. I will post here to make sure before I order.

Wait, the example you showed me, would it fit or is that just a randon example?

Both!

The one on the link was a random 2 foot long example.

If your tank is 2 feet long or less it will fit - the feet will slide inwards so smaller lengths will be okay but obviously it can't go longer.

I'm sure ebay Canada has something similar - just have a search under Home and garden > pet supplies > fish > lighting.

Thanks for explaining all this to me. I'm really new and stupid with this.

I just measured my light hood, and it is 28" in width. I can't find a hood that size anywhere.

You can get a 2.5 foot version of the type of thing on the link - the 'legs' will slide inwards as much as you need so you would have a 1 inch overhang at each end but thats no issue.

If you are prepared to dump the existing hood and run without a hood (just using a free standing light of the type above) you will have plenty of choices. Looks much better on a planted tank that way anyway.

(You may want to keep a condensation tray in place though, particularly if you have 'jumpers' like danio or RTB sharks etc)

I use one of these on a 4 foot tank and it looks great.

Arcadia Luminaire

If you want to keep your existing hood then your in for a major re-fit to get the output you want.

I like what you have there. Can you order off that website?

Not that I am aware of, but why don't you email them from the contact page and ask if they have a Canadian supplier/agent?

You never know, if they don't you could offer to be their sole Canada agent! :good:

Let me know when the freebies turn up!
