Personally i'm not a fan, i find them impractical for the most part. They can look good when scaped right. But thats another point, scaping them can be more awkward than doing a conventionally shaped tank.
James is right, they are very awkward to scape due to the center on the tank always being the main veiw point. The 'Golden rule' is very hard to apply to a corner. Saing that, they are one of the most practicle of tank IMO. Thats why i bought one.
heres a few pics of mine.
and here's the journal if you want to see how it got to this stage...
Thanks for the advice on the scape--the photos give me a good perspective and your tank looks fantastic! I will be sure to work on a design that considers the center of the tank as a focal point. In my room a corner tank gives me the biggest size tank to work with and is much more appealing than a conventional tank in the space I have to use.
I've just set up a corner tank, an Aquaone UFO 550 (hence my name very original!). We are very pleased with it, as it flls the corner of the room nicely. Other tanks are great if you have the space. Word of advice, is pick the size of tank you think is right, then get the next size up! Bit like flat screen tv's. Suffering with new tank syndrom, but that's being resolved by my LFS.
